Daniel Glattauer grew in the 10th District of Vienna favorites and attended school on the uncharted territory Laaer mountain. In 1978 he graduated in 1979 and studied education and art history. After graduating in 1985 he first wrote about three years for the press and then moved to the newly founded daily newspaper Der Standard, where he is in charge since 1989 under the symbol "dag" for columns, court reports and feature pages.
Glattauer was known mainly through his columns, in the so-called Einser Kastl on the cover of the standard appear alternately with those of "rough" (Hans Rauscher) and in which he humorously takes on the everyday. Collections of his best columns are screaming in book form under the name The ants count, and the birds appeared to show ma times.
His novel, The Christmas Dog in 2004, directed by Michael Keusch for television.
His 2006 published novel Gut gegen Nordwind the same year was nominated for the German Book Prize. The book is a modern form of the epistolary novel from an accident caused by e-mail correspondence between a single man and a married woman, and Madame Bovary can be understood as a modern version of Gustave Flaubert's novel of adultery. The stage version was on 19 Premiered in September 2007 in Linz Posthof. 2009 seemed to continue all seven waves.
